Title: PROCESS COORDINATOR
REPORTS TO: Director of Special Education

POSITION CLASSIFICATION: Professional
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: 9 months ( Part-time 1 day a week)
QUALIFICATIONS
- Baccalaureate Degree in Education
- Valid Missouri Certificate from the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education in Special Education (Cross Categorical certification)
- Minimum of two (2) years successful special education teaching experience 4. Experience in the public school setting preferred
- Detailed understanding of the Special Education process
- Ability to manage time and multiple priorities to meet deadlines
- Possess collaborative and interpersonal skills
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
JOB SUMMARY
The Process Coordinator will be responsible for supervision of the Special Education process from referral through placement and provision of services, appropriate identification and placement of students with disabilities, and District compliance with local, state and federal requirements for Special Education.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
The duties of the Process Coordinator will include, but are not limited to the following:
• Supervise the Special Education process of referral, placement, provision of services, appropriate identification and placement of students with disabilities, and District compliance with local, state and federal requirements for special education.
- Communicate standards of expected performance to students, teachers and parents; communicates results of educational evaluations to parents, students and teachers.
- LEA at Special Education evaluation and/or IEP meeting.
- Maintain confidentiality and non-judgmental views of student information, records, and families served.
- Implement and disseminate details of procedural safeguards.
- Follow standardized procedures in administering tests.
- Be familiar with Special Education regulatory requirements and assist in gathering and analyzing information on student progress in Special Education.
- Foster effective communication with students, parents and other staff members.
- Possess effective organizational and time management skills.
- Develop a trusting and reflective professional partnership with all staff.
- Provide written reports of assessment for student evaluations.
- Collaborate with building and support staff throughout the District to meet the needs of students.
- Make recommendations to the Director of Special Services concerning the need to obtain additional medical, psychological and/or psychiatric information on an evaluation.
- Collaborate with outside agencies, parents and teachers to meet the need of students.
- Review student records for the screening and evaluation process of students.
- Provide group and individual lessons on social skills development.
- Be a member of the screening team in a building as requested.
- Establish and maintain clear communication and cooperative working relationships with a variety of educators and groups.
- Prepare reports, maintains program files and record keeping systems for accountability.
- Models positive behavior for students (i.e. interpersonal communication, processes, social interactions, etc.) for the purpose of providing educational and life skills training.
- Demonstrate professionalism and appropriate judgment in behavior, speech, dress and appropriate professional manner for the work setting.
- Demonstrate effective human relations and communication skills.
- Adhere to good safety practices.
- Ability to understand and adhere to all District rules, regulations and policies.
