Description

Diamond High School is seeking a dynamic and passionate American History/Government Teacher to join our dedicated faculty. This position is specifically designed for an experienced educator who is enthusiastic about teaching high school students and is well-versed in American history and government. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in preparing students for End-of-Course (EOC) assessments. Various coaching opportunities will be available. 

 

Responsibilities:

  1. Deliver Engaging Lessons: Develop and implement a curriculum for American History and Government classes that is engaging, comprehensive, and aligned with state standards.

  2. EOC Preparation: Prepare students for End-of-Course assessments, ensuring they have a solid understanding of key concepts, historical events, and government structures.

  3. Differentiated Instruction: Employ a variety of teaching strategies to meet the diverse needs of students, fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment.

  4. Assessment and Feedback: Regularly assess student progress, provide constructive feedback, and implement interventions as needed to support student success.

  5. Classroom Management: Establish and maintain a positive and respectful classroom environment that promotes learning and collaboration.

  6. Parent and Community Engagement: Communicate effectively with parents and guardians, providing regular updates on student progress and participating in school and community events.

  7. Professional Development: Stay informed about the latest educational trends, participate in professional development opportunities, and contribute to a collaborative and innovative school culture.

Qualifications:

  1. Education: Bachelor's degree in Education, History, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.

  2. Certification: Valid teaching certification in American History or related field. Missouri State Teaching Certification is required.

  3. Experience: A minimum of 3 years of teaching experience preferred, with a focus on American History/Government at the high school level.

  4. EOC Experience: Proven success in preparing students for End-of-Course assessments.

  5. Technology Skills: Proficient in integrating technology into the classroom to enhance learning experiences.

  6. Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with students, parents, and colleagues.

  7. Passion: A genuine passion for American history and government, coupled with a commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment.
