The Diamond, MO School District is currently accepting applications for a half-time Gifted Education Teacher for the 2024-2025 school year. 

 

Qualifications:  

Bachelor’s Degree in area of Early Childhood, Elementary or Secondary Education  

Missouri DESE Certification in Gifted Education (current) 

 

Expectations:

Provide academic instruction to accelerated student learners with specialized learning needs as defined by the state of Missouri. 

Understand district curriculum and gifted curriculum requirements.  

Follow national curriculum guidelines to meet the needs of gifted students for differentiated instruction.  

Plan, design, prepare for and implement a variety of effective teaching techniques in order to successfully meet the differentiated educational and affective needs of gifted students.  

Maintain a positive classroom atmosphere conducive to learning with a climate of respect and fairness.  

Assess learning outcomes of students by various methods (testing, observation, portfolios, and other assessments as appropriate for gifted students).  

Plan and implement appropriate classroom management strategies.  

Communicate effectively with students, parents, staff, administration and community members.  

Engage in high quality, ongoing professional growth.  

Keep and maintain all appropriate records.  

Assist students with scholarship applications, special learning opportunities, and recommendations where appropriate. 

Coordinate or assist with screening pool of potential gifted students.  

Review appropriate testing sequence, information, placement criteria, etc.  

Timely reporting of student information for Core Data information.
